Claude Code CLI
Connect Biosimulant from a terminal on your computer. This guide is separate from the Claude Code desktop app guide.
CONNECTION WALKTHROUGH
Claude Code CLI
In your terminal app
claude
/mcp
Look for Biosimulant
▌On a small screen, swipe the illustration sideways to see the whole window.
Reduced motion: use the numbered steps or arrows. CLI scope checked with Claude Code 2.1.278. Written instructions below include the full setup.
Open Claude Code first
For the terminal version, open Terminal on Mac or your terminal app on Windows. Type claude and press Enter. If the command is missing, follow Claude Code’s installation guide first. At the Claude Code prompt, type /mcp and press Enter.
Check for an existing connection
In /mcp, look for Biosimulant. If Biosimulant is already present, reuse it and authenticate if requested.
With a Claude account login, a connector authenticated on Claude web can also be available in Claude Code. API-key and other provider logins do not automatically load Claude account connectors. If a connector is missing, check /status for the active login method.
Add the server directly
If no existing connection is available, exit Claude Code and run this in your terminal, not as a slash command:
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http biosimulant https://api.biosimulant.com/mcpThe explicit user scope makes the connection available across projects on this computer. Without it, Claude Code defaults to a local project connection.
Run claude again. Open /mcp, select biosimulant, and authenticate. Complete Biosimulant sign-in and approve access in your browser. Start a new Claude Code chat if the tools have not appeared.
Using staging? Use the server address from staging Studio in the command above. See Claude Code’s MCP guide for scopes and account connector availability.
Check the connection
Ask your agent:
Check my Biosimulant account and tell me whether this connection is personal
or for a team. Do not start a session or run anything.Confirm the account and context, then create a session in Studio and paste its session prompt into this agent. Setup alone does not join a Studio session.
