# Claude desktop Connect Biosimulant once, then reuse the connector in new chats on the same Claude account. ## Start from the home screen 1. Launch **Claude** from Applications on Mac or the Start menu on Windows and sign in. Stay in **Claude** chat; [Claude Code desktop](/agents/connect/claude-code) has its own guide. 2. Find **Customize** in the **left sidebar**. If the sidebar is hidden, open it with the sidebar button at the upper left. 3. On Customize, select the **Connectors** tab near the top, beside Skills and Plugins. 4. Select **Add** at the **top right** of that page. The control is labelled **Add connector** by screen readers. 5. In the menu beneath Add, select **Add custom connector**. Some versions group it under **Custom → Web**. Using a browser instead? In the centered **Add custom connector** dialog, enter **Biosimulant** in **Name** and paste this **MCP server URL**: ```text https://api.biosimulant.com/mcp ``` 2. Select **Continue** at the bottom right and wait for the server and sign-in settings to be discovered. 3. On the second step, choose **Sign in now** under **Authentication** and **Register automatically** under **OAuth client**. Leave request headers empty. 4. Select **Add** at the bottom right, then complete Biosimulant sign-in and approve the connection when prompted. If a separate **Connect** button appears, select it to start sign-in. 5. In a new Claude chat, use the **+** at the lower left of the message box, choose **Connectors**, and enable Biosimulant. The form may detect **Use Claude’s published identity** by default. This guide uses **Register automatically (DCR)** for a consistent setup path; you do not need your own client ID or secret. Using staging? Copy the server address from staging Studio instead of the production address above. Your workspace may need an owner to allow custom connectors. The desktop forms were inspected on October 10, 2026.
